Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about booking, gear, weather, and more.

Booking & Process

How do I book a trip?
Select a trip and send an inquiry through the form on the trip page. Our team will get back to you within 24 hours to discuss details and confirm the booking.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance. During peak season (May–September), popular dates fill up quickly — booking 4–6 weeks ahead is advisable.
Can I participate as a beginner?
Absolutely! Our guides cater to all experience levels and are happy to teach you everything — from casting technique to fighting fish. Just mention your experience level in your inquiry.

Gear

Do I need to bring my own gear?
The guide usually provides all fishing equipment. You will need weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, and possibly food. Details will be shared upon booking confirmation.
Do I need a fishing license?
It depends on the waters and country. In Germany, a fishing license or tourist license is typically required. Your guide will inform you about the requirements beforehand.

Weather & Season

What happens in bad weather?
Light rain or wind is normal for fishing. In case of severe weather warnings (thunderstorms, storms), the trip will be rescheduled for safety reasons. Your guide will contact you in time.
When is the best fishing season?
It depends on the species. Pike and zander can be caught year-round, trout during fly fishing season (April–October). Sea trout peak in autumn/winter. Ask your guide for the best timing.

Cancellation

How does cancellation work?
Free cancellation up to 7 days before the trip. Short-notice cancellations may incur fees. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
Can I change my trip date?
Date changes are possible depending on availability. Contact us as early as possible and we will find a suitable alternative.

Safety

Are the trips safe?
Safety is our top priority. All guides are experienced and equipped with safety gear. Life jackets are mandatory on boat trips. Please also read our safety guidelines.
What happens in an emergency?
Every guide carries a first aid kit and communication equipment. In medical emergencies, the rescue service (112) is called immediately. Guides are trained in first aid.

General

In which languages are trips offered?
Our guides speak German and English. Additional languages are listed on the individual guide profiles.
Can I book a trip as a gift?
Yes! Just mention in your inquiry that it is a gift. We are happy to create a gift voucher.
